Managers Background:     John R. Boortz, with over 15 years of commodity trading and technical system trading management and development, is President and trading manager of Boortz Trading Systems, LLC. After college he became involved in the oil and gas exploration and production business and developed an interest in futures trading in 1987, when natural gas became deregulated and natural gas futures trading opened on the NYMEX. From 1987 to 2001 Mr. Boortz managed several oil and gas trading and hedging operations in Houston.  As President of I.G.M. Pipeline and I.G.M. Trading Inc., Mr. Boortz was responsible for designing hedging programs, as well as trading proprietary corporate accounts. During this period, Mr. Boortz’s energy futures trading experience led him to develop specific trading systems built on technical rather than fundamental market factors. In order to further refine and test his proprietary trading systems, he moved to Chicago, the futures capital of the world. While there (October 2001 through February 2004) he worked as a futures broker  and gained valuable experience in numerous commodity markets, while continuing to develop and test his proprietary trading systems under various market conditions.

Strategy and Approach:  Primary uses a combination of stochastics, relative strength, and parabolic stops on an hourly basis.  When these indicators match up, a daily chart with stochastics is deployed.  Based on comparisons of the various time analysis meet some proprietary guidelines, only then will a trade be implemented.  an overlay of money management techniques is also used to provide further guidance to clients. 

Possible Competitive Advantage: Dependance on hourly charts for analysis.  By becoming more granular in its analysis, the goal is to avoid the need for long term trends to be successful.  As with any goal, there is no guarantee and risk are substantial.
